The Analog Owner Donnie Rife Leaves Amidst Sexual Harassment Claims

Rife says he’s pursuing legal counter-measures

The owner of Analog Theater & Cafe Donnie Rife is stepping down amid sexual harassment accusations. The news comes just months after a similar event at Lovecraft Bar. As the Portland Mercury first reported, an anonymous meme circulated last week on Facebook with quotes from alleged victims describing accounts of inappropriate physical touching and intimidation; the original post has since been deleted. The owner has vehemently denied the claims in a public statement, saying the “accusations are false” and that he’s planning to “legally pursue those behind this smear campaign.” Still, Rife will step down May 13.

“While I was already pushing to take a step back to spend more time with my family, this situation has given me the grace and momentum to finally put my family and myself first,” Rife writes. It’s unclear who the new owners may be, but the cafe and music venue will be under new ownership May 14.
